Note: You must close JAWS and any other screen readers before starting
Bavisoft products in order for the programs to work properly!
Always make sure you have DirectX properly installed on your system, and that
the drivers for your sound card are current. Our products will only work with
DirectX compatible sound cards.

Fix for Dell users:
Some Dell users have encountered a problem when playing Grizzly Gulch.
These users should try the following steps to fix it:
Click on the Start button, then select Run. Type dxdiag.exe in the box
and click OK. Select the Sound Tab. It may take a moment to load the
information, but then there is a slider labeled "Hardware Sound Acceleration
Level" under DirecX Features. This slider is probably set to Full Acceleration
(all the way to the right). Try moving it to standard acceleration then exit.
If Grizzly Gulch still doesn't work, repeat the procedure and try setting it
to Basic Acceleration.

Installation Issues

How to install Bavisoft products:
The install for all Bavisoft products have an autorun feature and should start the
install automatically when the CD is put in the CD-ROM. If the install does not
start automatically, you can install it by running the setup.exe located in the root
directory of the CD.

Space requirements for installation:
Grizzly Gulch requires 185 Mb of free space on your hard drive in order to
be installed. If you try to install to a hard drive with less than 185 Mb of
free space the installation will ask you to choose another location for it to install
the program. You can choose another hard drive that has enough space or you
can remove other programs or documents to free up enough space on the
current hard drive.

DirectX:
Bavisoft products require that DirectX 6.1 or greater be installed. If you are
running a previous version of DirectX, you may experience problems. A
DirectX install has been included on the CD. You can install it by running the
dxsetup.exe located in the directx folder on the CD. If you are unsure of the
current version of DirectX that is installed on your system, you can run the
dxsetup.exe and it will update only files from earlier versions of DirectX.
So, if you currently have a newer version of DirectX on your computer,
installing DirectX 6.1 will not overwrite any of the DirectX 9 files.

Controls

The arrow keys are not responding:
Our products use DirectInput, a component of DirectX for keyboard control.
Always make sure you have DirectX properly installed on your system. In
some cases, another program may have opened and aquired the keyboard. If
this is the case, shut down that program before starting your game.
